SHELLHARBOUR product Michelle Heyman will start in the first W-League match when Sydney FC face Perth Glory at Members Equity Stadium tomorrow.
Heyman, 20, will take her place in the run-on side for the match, which will be telecast on ABC2 from 4pm. The Illawarra Stingrays product earned her spot after scoring both Sydney FC goals in a 2-2 draw against Ghana at Homebush on Monday. Ghana raced to a 2-0 lead early in the first half and preserved their lead until the break. However, Sydney FC hit back when Heyman headed home a cross from skipper and 100-game Matildas veteran Heather Garriock. The Sydney women were back on terms moments later when Heyman finished off another cross from Garriock.Heyman's double completed an impressive start for the Illawarra Stingrays product, who was playing for Shellharbour in the Illawarra Women's Football Association 12 months ago.W-LEAGUE ROUND 1 Tomorrow: Perth v Sydney FC (Members Equity Stadium, 1pm), Melbourne v Central Coast (Telstra Dome, 4pm), Qld Roar v Adelaide United (Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre, 5pm)Sunday: Newcastle v Canberra United (Wanderers Oval, 1.30 pm)
