Perth Man Gets Hit By Flying Concrete

Thursday April 23, 2009

A Perth man died in a Sydney hospital last night after his car was hit with a large lump of concrete.

Concrete, described as large as two footballs, fell off a truck and hit a male driver in his 50s who was driving along South Dowling Street in Sydney at the junction of Flinders Street when the accident occurred.

Fire brigade officers were able to give immediate aid as their truck had stopped at the junction lights at the time of the accident.

The man became unconscious after the concrete flew into the windscreen. He was taken to St Vincent's hospital in a serious condition with fractures and internal injuries and died at 8pm last night during an operation.
